Commencement Speaker Announced: President of Sophia Institute

The largest graduating class in the history of Mount Royal Academy will be encouraged one final time before transitioning into life beyond MRA by Charlie McKinney. He leads a premier and innovative publisher which effectively uses all of the tools in the new evangelization.

Charlie McKinney is President of Sophia Institute, a Catholic apostolate that includes Sophia Institute Press, publisher of Catholic books; Sophia Institute for Teachers, a program that provides catechetical and spiritual formation to Catholic school teachers, as well as two online apostolates: CrisisMagazine.com and CatholicExchange.com.

Charlie has worked in the non-profit sector for over 15 years, serving as Vice President at the Thomas More College of Liberal Arts in Merrimack, New Hampshire, and in leadership positions at the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (Wilmington, DE) and at the Bill of Rights Institute (Washington, DC). Charlie is a board member of the American Principles Project, and is Chairman of Cornerstone Policy Research, a New Hampshire think tank dedicated to preserving traditional values.

Charlie and his wife, Carolyn, live with their four children (and one on the way) in Amherst, New Hampshire.

All are invited to attend the Bacclaureate Mass on June 9 at St. Patrick's in Newport, NH. Mass begins at 6:30 pm.

The graduation takes place on June 10 at 10:00am in the St. Joseph Center on the campus of MRA. The commencement address will be followed by speeches from graduates, as well as awards and accolades.
